Tomori own goal, Salah scoring prowess helps Liverpool beat AC Milan


Fikayo Tomori was credited with an own goal and Mohamed Salah continued his goal scoring streak, though he had missed a penalty earlier, as Liverpool beat off the challenge from AC Milan to secure three points in their opening group game of the UEFA Champions League.

Tomori’s own goal gave the Reds a 9th minute lead and it should have been 2-0 after fourteen minutes, but for Mike Maignan’s penalty heroics to stop Salah.
However, the French man would be beaten later, Salah tucking away his first goal in the UCL this campaign in the 49th minute to double Liverpool’s lead.
This wasn’t until after the visitors had stunned Jurgen Klopp’s men with two quick goals.
Ante Rebic equalized (42′) before Brahim Diaz shot them into the lead just before the break on forty-four minutes.
The game was eventually decided by Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson whose long range shot speared through many legs of before taking a curve to swing past Maignan.
Liverpool’s Senegal international Sadio Mane missed a couple of chances in the game, brought off the bench for Divock Origi in the 63rd minute.
