The End! Samuel Eto’o announces retirement from football

Former Cameroon captain Samuel Eto’o has announced his retirement from professional football.

Eto’o, who had a glittering spell with FC Barcelona, helping them win three La Liga titles and two Champions League victory, announced he had hung his playing boots via an Instagram post.

 

“The End. Towards a new challenge. Thank you all, big love, adrenaline,” the post read on his IG account.

The 38 year-old won two AFCON titles, including one at the expense of Nigeria. He was also voted Africa’s best player four times; winning three in a roll between 2003 and 2005.
