Following England star Lauren James’ red card for an incident involving Nigeria’s Michelle Alozie, the Super Falcons player has displayed admirable sportsmanship by offering her support.

In a tweet, Alozie expressed, “Abeg, rest. We are playing on the world’s stage. This game is one of passion, insurmountable emotions, and moments. All respect for Lauren James.”

She also shared an image of James’ foot on her back, capturing the moment with a bemused smile, captioned simply, “Life.”

The intense round of 16 clash was approaching extra time when James engaged in a tussle with Michelle Alozie.

Following the altercation, James petulantly stood on her opponent’s back, leading to a yellow card which was subsequently upgraded to a red after a VAR review.

Despite the incident, England managed to advance on penalties.
