A player for the big occasions, there’s a reason why Terem Moffi is a fan favorite in just his first season at FC Lorient and yet again on Friday night he showed why.

Moffi dropped an assist and a game winning goal as the struggling Les Merlus defeated league champions Lille OSC at the Stade du Moustoir.
The Nigerian set up Armand  Laurienté for the game’s opener after just seven minutes of play with a well executed strike finding the top left corner of the net.
However, the defensive frailties that has been the bane of Christophe Pelissier’s side this season once again came to fore after the defence backline gave away a penalty.
Burak Yilmaz scored (25′) from the spot to tie the score, and that was how the first half ended.
After the restart, both teams had a go at it again, and though the hosts out-shot the visitors in the overall play, they couldn’t find the breakthrough early.
Overall, Terem Moffi registered three shots on target, completed three dribbles and on the defensive end also put up some good numbers.
He was Loreint’s best player on the pitch and it was fitting he got the winning goal.
With three minutes of regular time left to play, the Nigeria international clinched all three points for Lorient with a low hit from inside the box.
It was his second goal in five appearances in Ligue 1 this season and the win moved his side up to fourth, but only just, with a few other teams yet to play their fourth and fifth rounds of games.
