Katsina United responded positively to a narrow loss to Wikki Tourists by defeating Remo Stars 3-2 Sunday in Match day 17 of the on-going NPFL at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina.
‘The Changi Boys’ ran riot in the early minutes of the encounter by mounting early pressure which made their opponents jittery and eventually took the lead from the penalty spot with just six minutes on the clock.
Dominic Abah picked out Tasiu Lawal in the penalty box of the visitors with a long pass but the weighed through paas was obstructed by Owoicho Edoka who handled the ball with his hand and the CR was in a better position to spot the hand.

Remo Stars continued to dominate the possession after the goal as they dictate the pace of the game from the middle of the park but nothing came out of it.
Tasiu Lawal would then grab his brace for the evening with a brilliant strike. He beat the offside trap and connected a clever through pass from Usman Barau before rounding the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into an empty net to restore Katsina United two goals lead
Gbolahan Mustapha came close on 35 minutes with a long range drive which narrowly missed the mark.
The fourth official signaled three minutes added time as the first half ended 3 – 1 in favour of the hosts
It was a bright start to the second half as both teams exhibited good football artistry to the delight of the spectators in the stadium
The first chance of the second half rested on Kingsley Akemini who benefited from a dangerous square ball in but he could not keep his effort low on 51 minutes
Both Coaches made tactical substitution to fortify the their teams as they continued to search for goals
Gbolahan Mustapha reduced the deficit to one from a brilliant solo effort just ten minutes before stoppages as Remo Stars continued to search for equalizer.
Remo Stars poked and knocked but could not break the resolute defense of Katsina United as the game ended 3 – 2 in favour of the hosts.
Tasiu Lawal was adjudged the man of the match by the pressmen that covered the game
