Taiwo Awoniyi is confident Nottingham Forest can come out on top against Manchester United in Sunday’s Premier League match.

Forest, who currently sit 18th position with 27 points from 30 games, are winless in 9 league games and will hope for a change in fortune when the host Erik ten Hag’s sides.

But, manager Steve Cooper has engineered wins against Liverpool, a draw against Chelsea and Manchester City this season, at Stamford Bridge and City Ground.

However, they’ve been poor at home, but, Awoniyi is hopeful that the team will be able to take something from the match against the Red Devils.

“Now it is Manchester United which is the first step to what we want to achieve; which is the goal to stay in the Premier League,” Awoniyi told BBC Radio Nottingham.

“Like I said we just have to be ourselves, it doesn’t matter who we are playing, the most important thing is being ourselves.”

The 25 year-old would be hoping to start against Man United after recently returning from a groin injury.
