Anthony Izuchukwu and his Al Khaleej teammates ground out a win at home against Al Wehad in a Saudi Pro League relegation battle.

Izuchukwu, who joined Al Khaleej from Hapoel Haifa in the Ligat HAal, has made 6 appearances since his move to Al-Danah.

The CB and his teammates followed up on their victory Al Tawoon with a last gasp 3-2 triumph at the weekend.

Sokoi Cikalleshi scored inside the opening nine minutes, but the visitors responded to level in the 32nd minute through Gerson Rodrigues.

In the second half, Al Khaleej regained the lead through Fabio Martins, but they defence couldn’t lock up shop and Karim Yoda was on hand to level up for the visitors.

However, with the game running out, the hosts would go on to have the final say and Martins yet again provided the home fans with a moment to cheer as he scored with three minutes of regulation time left.

The three points, though not enough to move them out of relegation waters, was a major confidence boost, as the newly promoted side secure their first back to back wins of the campaign – their third win this season.
