It was a feisty night at the Estadio do Dragao when Porto played host to Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Porto were the eventual winners, beating their German counterparts 2-0.

The first half had everything but neither side registered a goal, as VAR disallowed goals from the two teams.

In the second half, it didn’t take until the 69th minute for the first goal to come, as Zaidu Sanusi, who was brought in just over 5 minutes prior, was on the receiving end of a perfect cross from Mehdi Taremi.

The Nigerian controlled nicely before drilling a perfect shot into the bottom left corner to open scoring for the Portuguese outfit.

Taremi was yet against the provider for the second goal, setting up Galeno for Porto’s second goal.

Bayer Leverkusen suffered a late blow in the game when they were reduced to 10 men following a second yellow card from.Jeremy Frimpong on 88 minutes.

Victory on the night saw Porto move into third place with their first win in the competition, while Raphael Onyedika’s Club Brugge topping group B with three wins from as many games games.
