Super Falcons have a Major Problem – Yobo

Former Super Eagles defender, Joseph Yobo has praised the performance of the Super Falcons at the Women’s World Cup but pointed out that the team didn’t do enough.

Despite keeping three clean sheets in the four games they played, the Super Falcons also failed to score in three of the games.

All three goals that were scored in the tournament came in the 3-2 win over Australia.

In a chat with FL, Yobo claimed that even though the performance, team spirit, and organization were top-notch, the inability of the Randy Waldrum’s team to convert their chances eventually cost them.

The team hit the bar three times against England and were unlucky to be eliminated from the tournament on penalties in the round of 16.

“Our girls made us very proud. I actually watched the last game they played. In my opinion, they were better in the regular playing time. That’s 90 minutes. Only that they didn’t score and goals changes the game.

“But if you look at the performance in general, they showed out, they proved themselves that they’re not afraid of any nation or any other team.

“Credits to them, I think they can take the good things from that game and build on it. So African teams really did well, but I’m very proud of the Super Falcons.”
