The Nigeria WNT, the Super Falcons, secured their spot in the Women’s World Cup knockout stage with a goalless draw against the Republic of Ireland on Monday.

With 5 points collected from two draws and a win in the group stage, the Super Falcons advanced to the round of 16.

The hard-fought draw against the Republic of Ireland allowed Randy Waldrum’s team to progress to the next stage of the tournament.

It was a game that proved to be almost non-consequential for the former African Champions after the Matildas of Australia secured their own qualification by Canada 4-0, and condemned them to third spot in the group with four points.
