Super Falcons Coach Waldrum hands Gift spot in Nigeria’s AWCON Squad

Monday Gift has been named in Nigeria’s 25-Woman star studded squad for next Month’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Super Falcons head Coach, Randy Waldrum picked Gift, who finished as last season’s NWFL playoffs’ MVP.
The Striker who made her senior WNT debut in 2019 has since earned 10 caps and is one of only two players based in the Nigerian league.
Also, Waldrum named the veteran CB Onome Ebí and the 39 year-old will become the oldest player to feature in four or more AWCON tournaments.
Nigeria’s contingent will depart for Morocco, Monday, ahead of their opening game of the competition.
The Super Falcons’ 14th Women’s AFCON kicks off with the group C opener against South Africa’s Banyana Banyana on July 4.
Three days later the defending champions will face Botswana (July 7) and complete the first round of games with the match against Burundi (July 10).
