Super Falcons A Very Top Team – Payne

Super Falcons forward, Toni Payne has expressed her delight and belief in the team after their impressive 8-1 victory over the Queensland Lions in a pre-World Cup friendly match in Australia.

Payne registered her name on the scorers’ sheet in the drubbing, as the Super Falcons prepare for the beginning of their campaign at the World Cup.

The forward declared the team’s readiness for the tournament and specifically for their contemporaries in Group B, where they are pitted.

“I think as a team we played well, our objective is to grow and improve our system in every game and every training, I think we did that today (Saturday). Step by step we are improving and getting prepared for our first game against Canada,” said the 28 year-old.

“We are very confident. With the players we have here, we are at the same level as them (Australia) and we are ready to fight.”

The 9-time WAFCON winners will face off against co-hosts Australia, current Olympic champions Canada, and the Republic of Ireland in Group B.
