CAF has announced that the draw for the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers will hold on Tuesday, January 21, in Cairo.
The draw will see 14 winners from the first round join 26 other top teams to form 10 groups of four based on the December 2019 edition of the FIFA Rankings (the latest ranking will be published on the 19th).
Group winners will qualify for the third round which is scheduled for November 2021.
Another draw will be conducted for all five Group winners where the eventual winners will advance to the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.
The FIFA World Cup in Qatar will be played between November 21 and December 18, 2022.
