Former Super Eagles head Coach, Christian Chukwu has suggested that the NPFL is indeed beginning to take shape gradually.
Chukwu believes in time the NPFL will stand strong and will attract more fans as it used to do.
Speaking to FL, Chukwu who played in the Nigerian league and also in the national team, expressed optimism that the NPFL’s growth will rub off on the Super Eagles, and that it would enable more local representation in the Super Eagles as it once was.
“I am happy now, our league is growing and by the time we follow this through, you will see that our league is going to stand, and it is from the league that they are going to assess our national football.”
“When we were there, when Westerhoff was there, the league was so strong. The league was nice, people came to watch in the stadium, and you will notice that the national team players were picked from the local teams.”
