Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai has predicted that Nigeria will make it out of their AFCON 2024 group.

The Super Eagles are draw alongside host nation Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau.

However, ahead of the tournament which is less than three months away, Rufai has posited that Nigeria will make it out of the group.

The 1994 AFCON winner also noted that there were issues besides the recent goalkeeping gaffe which should be of concern.

“Nigeria will get out of that group,” Peter Rufai started. “Yes the team is not in the best shape expected, the goalkeeper is not in the best shape expected. But sometimes people rant about the goalkeeper, but something we are missing is the defence line.

“Issues can be poured on the goalkeeper and overlook the goalkeeper, but, these two work hand-in-hand.”
