Nasarawa United forward Ibrahim Sunusi has assured Nigerians of a white-wash of their opponents in the second leg of the CHAN Qualifiers slated for October 18, however, he claims the focus is first on the WAFU Cup holding in Senegal where the Home-Based Eagles will once again play their Togolese counterparts on Sunday September 29.

He expressed disappointment at the first-leg CHAN result despite scoring, stating, “we played well, but we lost concentration and we hope in the second-leg when the chance presents itself, we will take it”.

Sunusi, Last season’s NPFL joint top scorer, has scored on his two outings for Nigeria and hopes to keep the flag flying by extending his streak at the WAFU Cup and thereafter.

“We are going to Senegal to play our game and make Nigerians proud by bringing home the trophy.”

The Goal-machine believes the momentum generated will be crucial for the return leg against Les Eperviers as the Eagles are a solid force on home ground; “We score goals at home, and its often easy for us when we play in front of our fans.

“I hope we can score 5-6 goals against them but most importantly we play with heart just like we did against Sudan.”
