Super Eagles defender, William Troost-Ekong saw action for twenty-three minutes, coming off the bench late in the second half of Salernitana’s impressive 3-0 victory over Sassuolo in the Serie A.

Ekong was introduced in the 72nd minute against Sassuolo, to secure the win.

Since his move to Italy from Watford, the CB has made six appearances for Salernitana and has been benched twice in that timeline.

Salernitana remain in 14th place on the table with thirty-three points; six points off the relegation zone, albeit having played one match more than Empoli who are 15th on the log.
