The Super Eagles enjoyed a lot of support from Egyptian fans on Wednesday as they steamrolled to a dramatic 2-1 win over South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, and Ahmed Musa was loving every bit of it.

Just days before, inside the Cairo International stadium, South Africa dealt a massive blow to Egypt’s aspirations of an eighth AFCON title.

Bafana Bafana eliminated the favorites following a shocking 1-0 win.

Apparently, that defeat turned the loyalty of the home fans to South Africa’s opponents – Nigeria – in the quarter-final match at the same venue.

In his post-match interview, Musa said a “very big thank you” to the Egyptian fans and urged them to come out again in full support of the Super Eagles.

“They should keep on supporting us, Today (Wednesday) it was very good that the Egyptian fans came out to support us.

“So, I’m going to say a very big thank you to the Egyptian fans, they should come out in the next game to support us,” the Winger said.
