Paul Onuachu had an off day and it cost KRC Genk points in the shock defeat to Kortrijk in Monday’s Jupiler League match at the Guldensporen Stadion.
Onuachu managed a single shot on goal, lost possesion a staggering 13 times – six more than any other player – and committed 4 fouls and was booked in a tough day for the Forward.
He only played sixty-eight minutes before he was taken off by Genk boss Wouter Vrancken who brought on Mbawana Samatta.
The sides battled on for over eighty minutes, creating chances that went begging until the 83rd minute when the hosts broke the deadlock.
Felipe Avenatti scored what would be the game winner to snap Genk’s 10-game winning streak in the league – 18 unbeaten games in all competitions dating back to July.
However, Onuachu and his teammates will take some time off and return on January 8 against Club Brugge.
