How often do you hear that a Pep Guardiola’s team were stunned, beaten in the game of wits?

Well, on Saturday in front of their home fans, Manchester City dropped three points against Brentford on the the final match day before the international break.

Ivan Toney, missed out on a place in the plane flying England’s squad to Qatar for the FIFA World Cup later this month, but he ensured to show Three Lions boss, Gareth Southgate, what will be missing.

The English man scored in minute 16 and his second came in the 7th minute of stoppage time to seal a 2-1 win – Phil Foden levelled before the first half break.

Behind Toney in a 3-5-2 formation, manager Thomas Frank set up a compact five-man midfield wall which included Nigeria’s Frank Onyeka.

Onyeka started for the Bees and though he played only Eight-seven minutes, he put in a good performance to frustrate the Premier League champions.

The Nigerian had 36 touches on the ball, completed 16 passes, 2 tackles, 2 blocks. He registered one shot and won 1 Aerial duel, but, also lost the ball three times.

As it seems, Frank Onyeka, 24, have found his form; earning the trust of Thomas Frank who has given the Midfielder 12 league appearances this term.

Victory for Brentford moved them to 11th on the table, while Manchester City could trail Arsenal with more than two points if the North London club, who play Wolves later on Saturday.
