Jack Ipalibo and Fred Friday both featured in Strømsgodset’s 1-0 defeat away from home against Aalesund at the weekend.
While Ipalibo was named in the starting XI and was on the pitch for an hour, but Friday came off the bench as a 73rd minute substitute – with Strømsgodset already trailing.
The game’s only goal was scored in the second half, a right-footed strike off the boot of Sigurd Haugen decided the encounter.
The winger beat two players as he cut in from the left, his shot stung the goalkeeper’s gloves but he couldn’t keep it out.
It was a deserved goal for the hosts, who missed several chances to have killed the game off and they almost let Strømsgodset back in it.
The visitors though they had equalized after captain Gustav Valsvik bundled home the ball from inside the box, but the Lines woman ruled that he had been in an offside position.
Sunday’s defeat leaves Strømsgodset in fourth spot in the Eliteserien table and two spots off a Europa Conference League place after 13 rounds of matches.
