Standard Liege manager, Ronny Deila has expressed regret over snubbing a move for Nigerian forward, Victor Boniface during his time at Norwegian club, Valeranga.

The Standard Liege gaffer had a chance to acquire Boniface, but ultimately decided to pass up on the opportunity.

Later, for about €2.2 million, the young striker transferred from another Norwegian team, Bodo/Glimt to Union SG in the Belgian Pro League.

Boniface has enjoyed an impressive run with Union SG, scoring 11 goals in European competition this season.

This has been met with a deep sense of regret from Deila, who admitted that not signing the attacker is one of his biggest mistakes.

“I haven’t made many mistakes in my career transfer-wise, but not signing him (Boniface) is one of my biggest regrets,” Deila said, as per Walfoot.
