With rumors beginning to gather momentum that the referees who have been billed to handle the NPFL Matchday 17 match at the Agege Township Stadium between MFM FC and Rivers United FC Are set to put up a show in favor of the visiting team, fans, media and the general public have mentioned that there would definitely put a keen eye on the particular game and hope the LMC officials responsible for assigning referees to matches remind the officials of there obligations towards delivering a free, fair and credible match.
The dust was raise when fans of the Olukoya Boys put up post on there Whatsapp group calling on the management of the club to do the needful in preventing a similar officiating witnessed when Enyimba International and Lobi Stars where the away side were considerably favored by the officials as they warned that any officiating other than one that is free and fair would be followed by a backlash from the supporters.
One of the fans responding to the rumor said, “We fans of MFM FC especially in Agege are peaceful and we appreciate good football which was why we praised and cheered a grassroot team that defeated our beloved club in the State FA Cup but if the referees perform the magic that was performed when Enyimba and Lobi came around then we would have to react because we are hearing that Rivers United have come with money to compensate the referees if they can secure a positive result”
The fan added, “Make those referees no do rubbish tomorrow else na wahala go happen because e be like say even LMC no one make MFM FC make playoffs na why dem dey allow referees cheat us for home without punishments”
Onus now rest with the League Management Company to ensure center referee, Yohana Datom assistant referees, Isa Sani/Court Samson and the fourth official, Sani Abdullahi put up an outstanding performance devoid of controversy
