Solid Performance from Ajayi as West Brom Wins to Stay Top of Table


Semi Ajayi picked up his sixth league appearance for West Brom in the 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday at the Hawthorns and the Nigerian didn’t disappoint.

Ajayi was deployed as a midfielder; in front of the back four and not for the first time this season.


The 26 year-old former Arsenal youth team graduate put in a good shift to help Slaven Bilic’s men keep the pace atop the championship log.


He was rated 7.0 by for his contribution to the game and victory to his side.


Goals by Hal Robson-Kanu (10′) and Charlie Austin’s penalty (88′) came either side of Wednesday’s penalty converted by Steven Fletcher (58′).


Saturday’s win marked the Baggies’ third straight victory and extends their unbeaten run to seven, since October.
