Former Super Eagles defender, Sam Sodje has slammed the handlers of the Nigeria U20 MNT and NFF for opening the team camp just one month before the start of the FIFA U20 World Cup in Argentina.

Head coach, Ladan Bosso called up Thirty-nine players for the camp in Abuja.

Fresh from their third-placed finish at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, Bosso and the team will be hoping to give Nigeria her first-ever gold medal at the competition.

However, according to Sam Sodje the administrators have left it a little too late to prepare for the tournament.

Speaking on Brila FM’s “No Hold Barred” with Ifeanyi Udeze, he compared the situation with other “serious” contenders for the trophy, like England, who have started preparing for the same tournament in the past two months.

He believes that the Flying Eagles have been set up to fail because the time they have to prepare is too little compared to their contemporaries.
