Fulham’s manager, Marco Silva has praised summer signing Calvin Bassey, and believes the defender will improve with more games under his belt at the club.

Bassey’s recent performance in the friendly match against Bundesliga club, TSG Hoffenheim showcased his abilities.

The 23-year-old made a significant impact by scoring the winning goal and earned the Man of the Match accolade.

Despite his impressive showing, Silva acknowledges that Bassey still requires time to adapt to his new environment at Fulham.

Moving from Eredivisie outfit Ajax last month, the young defender is still settling in and integrating into the team’s playing style and tactics.

“It will be different for Calvin as it will be his first time in the Premier League. Even though he’s a London boy, it’s a new league and he will soon understand better how we defend,” Silva told the club’s official website.

“We knew what type of player we were signing and the skills he has.”
