Samson Siasia has lost his appeal to overturn his a 5-year ban for Alleged Match Fixing after the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan said the appellant did not show why a trial court in New York had jurisdiction over his case.

FIFA in 2019 banned Siasia from using his US Soccer federation coaching Licence and was given a life time ban for Alleged violation of code of ethics over a bribery scandal for Australian league matches. The lifelong ban was later commuted to five years.

Siasia took FIFA to court in August 2021 accusing the Governing body of acting on grossly insufficient evidence and he was entitled to a due process right under the United States Constitution, however the court had dismissed such claims and have upheld the stance of FIFA claiming that court is not in a position to grant a verdict.

The former Super Eagles coach, whose ban will be lifted this year insists he sought for compensation as he believes it is within his right.

“Well its ok. I was trying to get a compensation for what fifa did to me. There is nothing wrong with trying to fight for your right,” Siasia replied to FL’s inquiry on the ruling.
