Taking risks by putting faith in the unknown can turn out to be the best decision on occasions and former Eagles goalkeeper trainer Ike Shorunmu knows quite a bit about that formula.

Shorunmu, who was also Nigeria’s first choice goalie, celebrated winning the AFCON in 2013 as a member of Coach’s back room staff and has offered current Eagles Coach Gernot Rohr some pointers.

“Keshi started from home and knows the reality of being a home based player that wants to play in the national team,” Shorunmu told footballlive.ng.

“He knows the reasoning of the foreign based too and how best to balance the mix.

“Again he took a risk, because, If you don’t take risks, you probably won’t get what you’re looking for and it paid off for him.

“So, Gernot Rohr should be ready to move around and take the necessary risks to make things work in this regard.”
