Sheyi Ojo Gets Goal, Assist For Liverpool

Date:

Liverpool’s returnee winger, Sheyi Ojo was on fire for the squad, as he netted a goal and got an assist to help The Reds continue their pre-season winning surge.

After a season away on loan at Fulham, Ojo is back on Merseyside, and gave strength to his hope of a place in the main squad, after hitting top form as The Reds got a 3-2 win over English League Two newcomers, Tranmere Rovers in a friendly on Tuesday evening.

Ojo, who was named in the starting line-up along with another Nigerian-born attacker, Dominic Solanke, provided the assist for the first goal scored by Rafael Camacho, before he doubled the advantage.

He cut inside on his left foot then fired past Tranmere’s goalkeeper in the 27th minute, Adam Lallana made it 3-0 six minutes later.

With Ojo impressing in his second match of this pre-season, Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has a decision to make before the close of the summer transfer window, whether or not to send the dark-skinned player out on another loan deal.

Klopp made eleven changes at half-time, taking off Solanke and Ojo, who spent the whole of last season at Fulham, will be hoping to impress the German again when Liverpool face Bury Town in their next pre-season game on Saturday.
