Shehu Abdullahi out of Libya vs Nigeria clash, Returns to Turkey

Date:

Shehu Abdullahi has joined Onazi Ogenyi as the two players ruled out by Super Eagles technical Adviser, Gernot Rohr for the second-leg Africa Cup of Nations 2019 qualifiers against Libya.

Abdullahi picked up a muscle injury early in the first-leg match against Libya in Uyo, prompting the introduction of Ola Aina.

In a chat with Brila.net, Rohr disclosed the right-back did not train with the rest of the squad on Sunday Morning and will return to his Turkish club, Bursaspor, for treatment.

Also, the Nigeria coach confirmed that Onazi suffered a swollen Achilles, but is likely to return to action a week after the international break with Trabzonspor.

Nigeria and Libya will clash in the second-leg of the AFCON 2019 qualifiers in Group E on Tuesday 16th October in Sfax.
