Switzerland forward, Xherdan Shaqiri has warned his teammates, ahead of their crunch World Cup round of 16 match against Portugal, that it would be a big mistake write off Cristiano Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Swiss, is still a lethal attacking weapon who has the experience and ability to hurt teams that write him off.
“You cannot write off Cristiano, he is one of the best players in the world together with Messi,” Shaqiri said.
“This guy can score any second, any minute , he has experience and everyone knows how important he is for Portugal and for his team.”
The former Bayern Munich forward however, also stressed that it is equally important to keep an eye on the other players too.
“We have to know also the other players because it is not only Ronaldo.
“They have very good players, young players who can make a big difference and we need to give really a very good performance, because it’s knockout and anything can happen in the 95-100 minutes. And we are looking forward to it,” the Chicago Fire forward stressed.
