Seok-Hyun Choi scored in extra time to send Nigeria parking from the FIFA U20 World Cup, in the quarter-final fixture against Korea Republic at the Estadio Unico Madre de Ciudades on Sunday.

The game ended goalless after regular time, and proceeded to the extra 30minutes where Korea Republic scored with their only shot on goal.

Nigeria dominated the game and even registered 22 attempts on goal in 120minutes, but the undoing for Ladan Bosso’s team was their sloppiness in the final third.

Bosso had reached the quarter-final in 2007, where his team was eliminated by Chile after they caved in to lose 4-0 – all the goals came in extra time.

Nigeria was the last African representative left in the tournament in Argentina; chasing another place in the final and perhaps to match Ghana’s record as the only Nation from the Continent to win the U20 World Cup.
