Super Eagles midfielder Semi Ajayi continued his impressive scoring form in the English Championship as he scored a brace to hand Rotherham United a valuable win away at Queens Park Rangers on Wednesday.
Ajayi who has flourished since being moved to the defensive midfield box to box position from central defense have been instrumental in helping his team get valuable points home and away in the league as they intensify their efforts to avoid relegation from the championship.
The Super Eagles star who was recently invited to the national team squad ahead of the dead rubber AFCON qualification tie against Seychelles and a friendly against Egypt later this month put the visitors in front in the 71st minute while Nigerian-English star Bright Oseyi-Samuel thought he had salvaged a point for the home team in the 85th minute but Ajayi had the final say scoring a 95th minute goal to snatch all three points for the visitors.
Ajayi has been instrumental for the Millers in the second half of the season as they continue to fight against the drop scoring a total of five goals in the three appearances for the club.
Meanwhile head coach of the team Paul Wayne has stated that he is excited with the team and also happy for midfielder Ayayi for his contribution. “For Fordey to put in a quality ball in like that, and for Semi to attack it especially where our fans were was really a special moment.”
Rotherham United currently sits 22nd on the championship league table on 36 points after 37 games.
