Former West Bromwich Albion midfielder, Nigel Quashie has heaped praises on Semi Ajayi, adding that the Nigerian has been a bargain buy for the Baggies.
Ajayi moved to the Hawthorns from Rotherham in the summer and has become a key component of Slaven Bilić’s team featuring in every minute of the season thus far.
The Nigeria defender was also outstanding for Rotherham last term scoring an impressive seven goals from 46 appearances.
Quashie, who has been impressed with Ajayi’s performance this term hailed the Super Eagles defender for the solidity he has brought to West Brom’s back four.
“One and half million? Where can you get a player like that in this day and age? His value has probably rocketed now,” Quashie said.
“He has been solid, he has been disciplined, he has matured and given back four confidence.
“The team can attack as they know they have him behind and the back four have been outstanding. For £1.5m, that is the bargain of the season I would have thought,” he concluded.
