Semi Ajayi was in action for West Bromwich Albion as the Championship leaders recorded a comfortable 4-1 win over Bristol City in Wednesday’s clash at the Hawthorns.
Ajayi put in a wonderful display in Albion’s central defence to help them extend their winning streak to four following the victory over Lee Johnson’s side.
West Brom went in front through first-half efforts from Kieran Gibbs and Matheus Pereira before Senegal international Famara Diedhiou reduced the deficit in the 80th minute.
Hal Robson-Kanu and Charlie Austin then put the result out of the visitors’ reach with their strikes in the 83rd and 87th minute.
Ajayi who was on from start to finish, gave a good account of himself by winning five aerial contests, had four clearances and 83% successful pass rate.
The victory maintains West Brom spot at the top of the table with 39 points after 18 games.
