Online trolls have viciously attacked Arsenal for wearing gold on their new home uniform in retaliation for the team’s aborted title bid.

Arsenal have unveiled their new home uniform for the 2023–24 season, and despite the team’s unsuccessful title bid, it has an unusual amount of gold.

For the most part of the season – 280 days – Mikel Arteta’s team lead the Premier League standings, but they faltered in the final stretch, allowing Manchester City to successfully retain their title.

However, the gold on Arsenal’s new home jersey honors the club’s illustrious ‘Invincibles’ team, which won the 2003–04 league title without dropping a single game, and commemorates their 20th anniversary.

Arsenal had a season where they won 26 league games, and they had superstar players like Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, and Roberto Pires among others.

The tape that runs down the flank of their new uniform is sewn with the 26 victories and 12 draws, and there are gold touches everywhere that alludes to that illustrious Arsenal squad.
