Sao Tome and Principe women’s team have withdrawn from the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations first-round qualifiers against Nigeria.

Nigeria and their Central African country opponent were initially scheduled play the qualifiers at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on September 22nd and 26th.

An NFF source has confirmed this withdrawal, although the Federation had recently announced the Super Falcons squad for the upcoming matches.

As a result of Sao Tome’s withdrawal, the Super Falcons will now await the winner of another first-round match between Liberia and Cape Verde.

This second-round stage is scheduled to occur from November 27th to December 5th, 2024.
