In a bold statement, Sao Tome and Principe captain, Luis Leal has confidently declared that his team is in Uyo to defeat Nigeria.

Despite being already out of contention for a place at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, Leal expressed that the True Patriots have nothing but pride to play for in this game.

The last encounter between Sao Tome and Nigeria in the qualifiers ended in a devastating 10-0 defeat for the True Patriots.

However, Leal remains undeterred and believes that his team will turn the tables this time around.

Sao Tome has struggled in the qualifiers, conceding a total of 20 goals and scoring only three in five games.

Despite these challenges, Leal boldly stated that the True Patriots will not only defeat the Super Eagles but also humiliate them.

“We are here to thrash and humiliate the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo,” he boasted.
