Sanusi’s FC Porto off to a flyer in new Primeira Liga season

Zaidu Sanusi put in a solid shift in his first game of the Primeira Liga season as FC Porto got their league defence off to a perfect start.

Sanusi was among the starters for the home team against Maritimo at the Estádio do Dragão on Sunday evening.
The Left back followed up his Super Cup performance against Tondela with another 90 minutes appearance for Sérgio Conceição’s side.
Porto took a three-goal lead in the first half, courtesy a Mehdi Taremi’s brace and a stunning free kick from Evanilson.
The host, in the second half were more dominating as they extended their lead in the 68th minute, through Ivan Marciano before Toni Martinez added the fifth in the 76th minute.
Sanusi and his mates at the back were however denied a clean sheet as the visitors grabbed a consolation goal two minutes from the end of regular time.
Claudio Winck scored in the 88th from one of only three shots on target for Maritimo in the game.
