Samuel Kalu Targets Silverware With Gent

Date:

KAA Gent of Belgium winger, Samuel Kalu has admitted he has burning ambitions to achieve in his soccer career, but says everything he aspires for will only come after he must have won laurels with his current club.

While revealing his love for Manchester City of England as well as how much he idolises Mohammed Salah and Kevin de Bruyne, Kalu went on to stress that his focus for now is on Gent and helping them win silverware this season.

The 20-year-old forward has scored four goals in 17 appearances this season, after he joined Gent from SK Trencin of Slovakia, and he wants to justify the deal.

The former Super Eagles invitee, however, stated clearly that his biggest dream is to become African Footballer of the Year and play in the English Premier League for Manchester City.

Kalu disclosed: “I want to play at a big club and win a lot of medals and prizes; I want to become the best player in Africa.

“I am a bit of the same type of player as ‘Mo’ Salah from Liverpool, who was recently voted the best player on our continent, and I will always follow in his footsteps, my biggest dream, but I have to go to the Premier League first.

“Manchester City is my dream team, I would like to play together with Belgium star Kevin De Bruyne, but first I want to win a prize with KAA Gent, then the rest will follow.”
