Former Sunshine Stars coach, Duke Udi has thrown his support behind Olympic Eagles head Coach Salisu Yusuf, as the best coach in Nigeria and ‘by a distance’.
In a chat with FL, Udi said Salisu Yusuf is an admirable tactician for his ability to manage teams.
Duke Udi also suggested that it is embarrassing for the National under 23 team coach to be earning around 400 dollars, compared to what he really offers.
He claims that the monetary reward for him, is too low for a coach of his ‘caliber and magnitude’ and also opined that Yusuf has the ability to lead the Olympic Eagles to success.
Coach Salisu Yusuf has come under scrutiny by a majority football fans, especially as he failed to reach the African Nations Championship, where his team lost to Ghana in the qualifiers.
A vast majority of fans have expressed their displeasure at the coach retaining a nation team job.
Despite all of this, Duke Udi has maintained his stance on Salisu Yusuf being, in is own opinion, the best football coach in the country.
