Super Eagles B coach, Salisu Yusuf says he’s focused on qualifying the team for the African Nations Championship and not thinking of revenge against Ghana.
Salisu was on the bench with Austin Eguavoen, when Ghana snatched the FIFA World Cup ticket from Nigeria back in March.
As the Super Eagles B intensify efforts to reach the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN), the face Ghana’s Black Galaxies in the qualifiers.
Ahead of the tie, Yusuf said, that “I won’t say we are seeking to get revenge against Ghana because of what happened with the last game on the road to the Qatar World Cup.
“We want to win and qualify for the final stage of the competition in Algeria next year. That is basically what we are pursuing.”
“However, if we beat them to the ticket, which we definitely hope to achieve, then whatever description anyone gives it should be a matter of choice.”
The first leg of the tie holds in Cape Coast on Sunday, 28th August, while return fixture is scheduled for for the MKO Abiola National Stadium, Abuja on Saturday, 3rd September.
The winner earns a berth at the 7th African Nations Championship finals to be staged in Algeria early next year.
