Sadiq Umar Off To NAC Breda

Date:

Rio 2016 Olympics revelation, Sadiq Umar is finally set to leave Italy, as he has been confirmed for a loan deal at NAC Breda of Holland.

The deal brings an end to a tripartite level of disagreement between Umar, his parent club, AS Roma, and the team he has been playing for on loan in the Serie A, Torino.

While Torino wanted to keep him into the second half of the season, Roma wanted him to join lower division side, AC Parma, but Umar preferred leaving Italy altogether for fresh chances and career opportunities elsewhere in Europe.

After all said and done, Umar has now received a fulfilment of his desire to leave Italy, as he is now only few details from agreeing a loan move to Breda from Roma following termination of his loan deal with Torino.

NAC Breda are 16th on the 18 team log of the Eredivisie with 16 points from 19 games, no thanks to their goal shy strikers as they have only found the back of the net 20 times.

They will be hoping Umar provides goals that will help them preserve their top division status, as they are presently one point away from relegation to the second division.

He impressed in the three games he played for Torino in the Serie A, but was not considered good enough to command a regular shirt in the team.

Last season injuries and fitness issues affected his time at Bologna where he was also on loan for the season.

However, his impressive form for Roma in pre-season ‎earned him a contract extension at the club, but will in the coming days join NAC Breda on loan for the rest of the season.

Umar’s agent disclosed: ”Sadiq had options from France, Germany and Portugal but there is the promise of regular game time at NAC Breda, something he needs at this stage of his career.

”The move is 80% done. The only reason why it is not yet official is because Roma want to sort out the future of Edin Dzeko before giving their green light for the move to happen.”
