Mutiu Adepoju has made a startling admittance about the state of affairs with the Nigeria MNT, and argued that the Eagles were a better team with Gernot Rohr in charge.
In a chat with FL, Adepoju criticized the currently Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, and labelled his technique as “unimpressive”, but also suggested the 62 year-old Portuguese needs time to perfect his system and style of play.
“At least during Gernot Rohr’s five-year reign he won so many games, although he lost some too. But, since (Jose) Peseiro came the team has not been having it good, and it’s only normal when questions are asked.
” Yet we can be hopeful that in time the system and the idea of building from the back could work; we just have to be patient and see.”
