Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr has refused to blame goalkeeper Francis Uzoho for his costly mistake in Friday’s 3-1 win against Seychelles at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier.
The Anorthosis Famagusta shot-stopper spilled an innocuous free-kick which was connected home from close range by Melanie Rody.
“The goalkeeper (Uzoho) isn’t playing so much for his club due to administrative problem,” Rohr said at a Press Conference attended by
“We wanted to see him play again and this was the opportunity for us. ”
“Don’t forget he performed well at the World Cup.”
“He made a mistake against Seychelles. This kind of games are very difficult,” the experienced gaffer concluded.
