Former Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has expressed his anticipation for the upcoming matches against Nigeria in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

Rohr, who was in charge of the Super Eagles from 2016 to 2021, is now the head coach of Benin Republic.

“Benin fell into an extremely tough group, with obviously Nigeria as the favourite, a team we know quite well,” Rohr was quoted by 24HauBenin.

“But also the others, that is to say, South Africa, already qualified for the next AFCON very early with a new state of mind,” the Franco-German technician explained.”

The two teams have been drawn in Group C of the qualifiers along with South Africa, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, and Lesotho.
