Rivers United ready to go again, chasing League and Cup double in new season


Rivers United will officially open camp for the 2019/2020 football season Today.

Club sources told footballlive that all retained and invited players are expected to be in camp from the official resumption date.


Meanwhile, according to club General Manager Okey Kpalukwu, Rivers United will hold their first training session on Tuesday 6th August 2019.


“We were just 90 minutes away from picking a continental ticket last season and we are certain the upcoming season will be a lot more positive for us,” he explained.


“We’re poised to do better this term and make Rivers people proud.

“We’ve set up camp and every necessary step is being taken to ensure we get back to the top.” Chief Kpalukwu explained.


He also added that players who fail to report to camp on or before the 6th of August will be sanctioned.


Rivers United FC finished in fifth place in Group A of the abridged 2019 NPFL season and reached the semi-final of the Aiteo Cup.
