Sequel to the incident that happened in the NPFL matchday 18 game between Remo Stars and Gombe United in Ikenne, where the match was abandoned at half-time, after match officials refused to come out for the restart, the League body, Interim Management Committee has hit the host with a stiff punishment.
As per multiple reports, the match officials had reported intimidation and assault at the break.
It is believed the attack promoted by the sending off of Remo Stars midfielder, Dayo Ojo, and the game was abandoned afterward.
Subsequently, Remo Stars were fined for failing to provide Security for the Referees, and the club GM has been suspended for the rest of the current season.
The club was docked three points and fined 1.25 Million Naira which must be paid into the stipulated accounts of the NPFL within seven business days.
