Remo Stars bounced back from their loss to Bendel Insurance, with a 2-0 win over Enyimba FC in their midweek NPFL clash in Ikenne.

Reacting to his side’s victory, Remo Stars head Coach, Daniel Ogunmodede praised the team’s response dropping points last weekend.

Ogunmodede was impressed with the players, whom he claims “inspired themselves to victory”.

The Coach stressed how well his team was able to keep their shape and grind out the win in a game he claims they could have even done better.

“It is a good reaction from the boys and I’m so proud of how they responded after our last away game,” Ogunmodede chimed.

“We were bitter within ourselves, the players, and the coaches alike, we were not happy. We did not deserve to lose 3-0 in that last match and we actually felt we needed a catalyst to respond, to re-ignite back our passion and we got it against Enyimba in 30 seconds.”

Daniel Ogunmodede also answered questions on his team’s lack of goals in recent games.

“I’m contented we got three points, it is the most important thing for me and for us and I’m also contented that we are creating a lot of chances.

“They are young lads and they want to impress, most especially after the woeful outing in the last away game, and they felt they need to respond and make their coach and spectators happy again. They were too anxious and I think we deserved to score three goals, but most importantly we got three points.”
