Niger Tornadoes skipper Mustapha Aliko has tipped his side to win the 2019 Federation cup after beating Rivers united 2-1 to secure a place in the final.
In a chat with footballlive.ng Aliko said the team’s qualification to the final of the competition has given them another shot at the Federation cup title which the team lost two seasons ago against Akwa united.
The goalkeeper believes Tornadoes are in pole position to pick the trophy this term and doing it for the fans will compensate for getting relegated from the topflight already this season.
“We won the semi final by throwing out a big side like Rivers united. We are happy, I don’t even know how to say this.
“All the players are happy, the fans are happy and the management as well. We’re just working towards making Nigerites happy by winning the Federation cup for them.”
Niger Tornadoes will play Kano Pillars in the final of the 2019 Federation cup.
